We, the Marzola family, discovered our passion for skiing and gastronomy at an early age. After all, our home in Val Gardena, South Tyrol, is the perfect setting for unforgettable mountain adventures and convivial moments spent savouring the best of Alpine and Mediterranean traditions. Fil da Mont, our hotel on the Sellaronda, is just one of the places where we’re delighted to welcome you.
Ski area and lift facilities
Our father, Gianni Marzola, was one of the pioneers behind Dolomiti Superski, Europe's largest ski network, with 1,200 km of pistes across 12 ski areas. He played a key role in developing the slopes and lift infrastructure in Val Gardena, including the Piz Sella cable car, located right beside our boutique hotel in the Dolomites. It’s also one of the reasons why, as our guests, you enjoy free access in summer to three lifts in the Sassolungo area: Piz Seteur 1, Forcella Sassolungo and Gran Paradiso.

Rifugio Comici
Our hotel on the Sellaronda, in Selva di Val Gardena, also comes with its own mountain hut. Since 1955, we’ve been welcoming skiers and hikers to the Rifugio Comici hut, at the foot of Sassolungo at an altitude of 2,154 metres, offering a place to rest, enjoy delicious food and take in the views. One of the Alps’ most famous gourmet and fish restaurants, it serves refined herb-inspired cuisine in summer, featuring fresh greens from our own garden. In winter, it becomes a haven for fish lovers. Whatever the season, an aperitif overlooking the Dolomites is one of those moments you’ll remember long after your holiday.
La Finestra on the Plose
The Plose, Bressanone’s local mountain with its hiking trails and ski area, is our second home. Alongside 40 km of sunny ski slopes and modern lifts, one of its highlights is our La Finestra restaurant, right beside the mountain station. Whether you fancy a refreshing aperitif, lunch with a view or a sweet treat after a hike, this is where nature, conviviality and culinary pleasure come together. The menu features high-quality Alpine classics and Mediterranean specialities.
