Not far from Fil da Mont lies a paradise for cross-country skiers: Vallunga in Selva di Val Gardena, with 133 km of cross-country trails for everyone from beginners to seasoned enthusiasts, as well as a biathlon centre and training tracks. If you’re new to cross-country skiing, you can easily hire equipment on site and learn the ropes with professional lessons.
Selva di Val Gardena is ideal for your ski holiday in the Dolomites, and ski tourers will also find routes for every ability. Experienced ski tourers often head towards the Sassolungo pass, while beginners love the routes to the Cir peaks and through Vallunga. What makes ski touring so special? The combination of a scenic climb and an exhilarating descent, often through untouched powder snow.
No winter holiday is complete without a few hours of snow-filled fun, just like in childhood. Val Gardena offers a wonderful choice of toboggan runs for the whole family, with sledges available to hire at various locations. So fuel up at one of the many mountain huts, then off you go! For a truly special experience, try tobogganing by moonlight.
